Safety First

🛟 Safety First

At Inner Wave Morocco, we believe that transformative experiences start with feeling safe, supported, and empowered in your body and environment. Whether you’re joining us for yoga, surf, or soul exploration—safety is a shared responsibility.

✨ Personal Responsibility

Surfing and travel are deeply enriching, but they also carry inherent risks. By participating in any of our offerings, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • You are responsible for securing your own travel and accident insurance, including coverage for surf-related injuries, loss of belongings, and medical needs.
  • Surfing is considered an extreme sport. While we create a supportive and beginner-friendly space, the ocean remains a dynamic and powerful environment.
  • You are expected to use common sense and make choices aligned with your current energy, physical capacity, and surf level.
  • Inner Wave Morocco and its team cannot be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur during your stay or sessions.

🌊 Surf Safety Basics

Whether you’re riding your first wave or brushing up your skills, these essential safety practices help create a grounded, respectful, and empowered surf experience:

🧭 Select the Right Spot

Not every surf spot is beginner-friendly. We always aim for mellow waves and safe conditions—yet it’s your responsibility to respect the forecast and your own limits.

🚶‍♀️ Enter Mindfully

Always carry your board beside you, nose forward and perpendicular to the waves. Never place it in front of you—waves can push it right back into you.

🧠 Mind Your Board

Your leash keeps your board close—but that also means it can bounce back. Be mindful of its position, especially during wipeouts.

💦 Wipeout Tips

Wipeouts happen. If you fall, try to land feet first and cover your head with your arms. Never dive headfirst. As you resurface, reach up with a hand to protect your head from your board.

🌀 Avoid the Impact Zone

Stay out of the zone where waves break hardest. Beginners are encouraged to stay in the whitewater or paddle wide to avoid dangerous sections.

🧍‍♂️ Respect Other Surfers

Give others space. Be present and alert in the lineup, and don’t paddle into someone’s wave.

🌊 Know Rip Currents

Never fight a rip current. Instead, paddle parallel to the shore or float until you’re beyond the current, then return calmly.

🧑‍🏫 Learn from the Right People

A good coach can change your entire experience. Choose someone with spot knowledge, experience, and CPR/First Aid certification.

✋ Establish a Help Signal

We recommend using a raised arm to signal for help—whether to your surf buddy, coach, or team on the shore.

🏄 Beginner-Friendly Gear Tips

We provide equipment and support to help you feel grounded and confident in the water:

  • Foamboards & Longboards: Soft and stable for safety and ease.
  • Wetsuits & Rash Guards: Protection from sun, cold, and chafing.
  • Leash: Always attached to your back foot to prevent board loss.
  • Surf Wax: For proper grip while paddling and popping up

🌈 Final Note

We do our best to guide you with love and awareness—but ultimately, your safety is your responsibility. Tuning into your body, your breath, and your environment is the most important practice you can take with you—on land, in water, and in life.

When in doubt, don’t paddle out.
We’re here to support, not push.
